　　A ship in sail,
　　杨帆的航船，
　　an opening flower,
3 C9 ~- g! n. z6 A' u　　绽放的鲜花，
+ e. _0 W9 U3 {6 ?5 R+ n　　a town at night,
) \5 M: y) z) O: A, |8 }6 W9 r　　夜幕中的小镇，
　　the song of the blackbird,
　　优美的诗行，
　　a lovely poem,
4 R% t/ P( a4 P$ k7 g" G# K　　可爱的诗人
　　leaf shadows,
5 l' f# N# {$ I9 @3 q  g　　婆娑的树影，
　　a child’s grace,
( }' _/ C/ [6 \4 b$ u　　孩童的烂漫，
　　the starry skies,
　　漫天的繁星
6 R/ T$ u) S# `9 q) m$ L( o　　apple trees in spring,
) {  u1 ?' d5 o! ~　　春天的果树，
; Z7 o$ Z+ G/ H　　sheep-bells on a hill,
# S& I3 z  ^( L2 y: ~$ a$ k　　山上的羊铃声，
　　a rippling stream,
　　一道潺潺流水，

　　一只蝴蝶 ，
　　the crescent moon,

" [; s/ Z4 P% w7 o- I　　the thousand sights or sounds or words
" ~8 Y4 r+ N3 E　　that evoke in us the thought of beauty —
4 t1 B* Y' @& J　　这些使我们潜生美感的万千景象，音籁和词句
　　these are the drops of rain
　　that keep the human spirit from death by drought.
　　仿佛雨露般滋润着我们干涸的心田。
　　They are a stealing and silent refreshment
　　它们悄然而来
3 t) H, v$ g- W% N8 E3 v" N　　that we perhaps do not think about,
/ I4 s/ p7 X8 R- [; w5 X+ U" n% T6 s　　在我们不经意中荡涤尘寰
　　but which goes on all the time.
( }& o/ S8 ~* ?# O7 r  a, A3 f　　绵延不断
　　Beauty is the smile on the earth’s face,
　　美是大地的笑容，
7 n# ]$ S+ B- G# i　　open to all, and needs but the eyes to see,
　　the mood to understand.
